[wordup] Concept album follow up ...

After having dealt with a deluge of mail regarding the concept album I've
come to personal rough conclusions which were shared (to varying degrees)
by most of the people I spoke with.

The big music movement in the 80's was techno, probably the biggest mover
and shaker was Kraftwerk, but they just weren't big enough to make a dent
on the national consiousness.  So for the 80's I give the concept album
award to Michael Jackson "Thriller".

For the ninties I think the biggest music movement (as much as I don't
really care for it) was hiphop.  The Sugarhill gang, Grandmaster Flash and
Run DMC were some of the founding fathers of hiphop but I think that the
Beastie Boys were the ones that really brought it to the masses.  I'm not
a huge fan so someone that knows them better then me could suggest an
album.
