So this is basically spam and for that I apologize but it's friends of
mine doing it and it's actually a pretty cool idea and site.

If you're curious, take a second and check it out.

Okay, so the news is spreading slowly, and we had some "problems" with the
first mailing. Sorry if you get this twice. Please write us back and tell us
what you think (of the site, of us, of life).

What¹s up kids? It¹s 4:44am and Don Boogie told me to write you all about
UrbanHonking.com, which is finally up and runnin¹. I know we been talking
about it for a LOOOOONG time, but it¹s finally ready. Most of you saw the
first draft we created, and to you we say, ³Welcome back.² And to the newest
people, ³Thanks for caring.² I can easily say this is the biggest thing I¹ve
done in a while, and it¹s already bursting at the seams. We plan on bringing
you new music, books, and views and opinions on everything that matters.
Let¹s talk about what matters for a minute.

There is a bridge in Portland that crosses over some traintracks. It¹s made
of cement, chainlink fence, and razor wire. It¹s been tagged, stickered, and
is an often used as a shelter for homeless folk. As you walk up the chipped
steps covered in broken glass you catch a glimpse of the industrial
neighborhood from a new vantage point. This is UrbanHonking.

While driving with some friends the name urban honking came up as a
description for honking that is intended as a hello, or as a ³Hey, I¹m
backing up now.² It is a different sound than an angry honk, meant to
intimidate bike riders, pedestrians, and other drivers. Urban Honking became
a symbol of our collective love for the unique elements of city-dwelling.

We have an idea of what you like because we think it¹s the same thing we
like. And if you don¹t like it, chances are you just haven¹t thought about
how fucking cool it is.

We love the city. Not just Portland, but Los Angeles, San Francisco,
Seattle, Omaha, Pittsburgh, St. Paul, Toronto, New York, Atlanta, Miami,
Chicago and any other area where the environment is more man than nature.
UrbanHonking.com represents our love for the alleys, the storm tunnels, the
fire escapes, the graffiti, the ghetto blasters, and all the thousands of
people who you have to interact with everyday in a city.

It's about community, caring, having fun, and saying sorry after you punch
someone because you're really, really drunk.

Here's to a new start in '02. Let's Make it Happen!

Sincerely,

Micromeo
