Other then this being the favorite subject line of any email I've ever
sent ...

I'm closing the wordup discussion (yes it's been raging in my inbox all
day) on the cheese eating surrender monkeys with this:

From: Brett Shand <bretts at earthlight.co.nz>

<huge sigh> In respect of both these posts, I have not met anyone who
has looked at the current regime in Iraq (or North Korea, or Romania.
or Zimbabwe or etc ...) with seriousness and an open mind who denies
that there is a problem in any of these places. THAT is not the issue.
The issue is HOW do you solve a problem like that. I oppose the war in
Iraq not because I have warm feelings for the Saddam Hussein regime
and it's policies, but because I think a) that the USA has been less
than frank about *it's* foreign policy objectives and mainly b) I
believe that the invasion of Iraq is a deeply unimaginative response
and will, in the medium to long term, leave us (the world) a lot worse
off than we are now, for all the obvious reasons.

I'm going to try and reduce my war postings because, 1) i don't have
time/knowledge to do it justice, and thus 2) everyone else is doing it
better then me and 3) I get to many pissy emails no matter which side I
take. :-)

For those that are curious I'll be tracking interesting things about the
war on my web site, you're welcome to join in there if you wish:

And just for fun I'll leave you with:
