This is good good news.  In fact it's a great way to start the day (an  
even better way to start teh week for those for whom it's still Monday  
:-).

Groklaw has the nitty gritty details, so if you're interested that's  
the place to check out.  I'll note that from my reading of Groklaw  
Slashdot is misleading, the judge didn't rule based on the GPL but  
rather forced the parties to go through discovery, which resulted in  
them reaching a settlement.

Michigan Diagnostic Software Case Big Win for GPL

diagnostic software against the pretension of automakers who want to

GROKLAW." It's actually the Society of Automotive Engineers involved  
here; DrewTech (the developers in this case) nicely donated half of  
their settlement money to the SAE
