With English spelling, like Perl, there is often more than one way to do 
it. But with French, as I understand it, if you misspell something (or, 
god forbid, mispronounce it) they throw cheese at you then surrender 
preemptively.

You're thinking of France french, not Canadian french, which is an 
entirely different kettle of poutine. We make derisive comments about 
the strength of your beer (or lack thereof), then don't show up for the 
fight.
